How Dangerous is it to Mix Salsa and Pheromones?

A few years ago, a friend told me about a product he had bought online – a pheromone oil that could be mixed with perfume or cologne. He then mentioned that it seemed to work surprisingly well when he was out mixing it up with women, especially when dancing at Tango clubs, and even when he was at the local Starbucks.

Intrigued, I asked him for the Internet address of the product and ordered a sample. I didn’t really know what to expect, so I hung on to the package when it was delivered, and didn’t use it for a few weeks. But, it was now Autumn and my birthday was coming up. I’d planned a birthday dinner and dancing at the Salsa club downtown. As I got dressed, I remembered that little package of pheromone oil, and when I spritzed myself with my regular perfume, I added a few drops of the pheromone oil as well.

If you have ever done any social dancing you know what it’s like. You spend more time than you want wishing someone would ask you to dance. Usually, when I’m out salsa dancing, I never know what to expect. Sometimes, I stand around and don’t even get asked to dance. Other times, things just seem to flow and I dance a lot.

I’ve been a Salsa dancer for more than ten years now, so I know most of the regulars. This particular year, on my birthday, the evening started out fine. I was in a better mood than normal-I just felt happy. Hey, when you are in your 40s, another year older isn’t usually a fun time. But, somehow, I just felt that everything was GOOD.

I’d only been at the club for a few minutes when I was asked to dance. After that, I literally didn’t stop dancing for an hour or so. I’d just be coming off the dance floor when someone else would ask. So, I’d head right back out to dance. It seemed like such a charmed evening that I figured it was just good luck and it was my birthday, and I was feeling good. Why shouldn’t I be dancing a lot and having a great time?

I began to think this night was somehow different from any other night I’d gone dancing when, to my surprise, one of my “paramours” began following me around and saying “I love you, I love you”. Yes, it was my birthday and many of my dancing friends knew it was my birthday, but it seemed like I was being asked to dance by men who usually just passed me by to dance with younger gals.

I’d had a few drinks, so it didn’t hit me right away, but later, when the evening began to wind down, I realized that I’d danced more, been hit on more, and been followed around more than any other time I could remember. There was a moment later in the evening, when I reached into my evening purse for a mint, and I saw that little vial of women’s pheromone oil.

I pulled it out of the purse and held it up to the light, thinking. After my friend told me about his experience with pheromones for men, I’d gone online and read that subliminal scents-sex attractants or pheromones-influence how animals develop, mate, bond, and nurture their offspring.

As humans, we are no different. So, here I was, ending a fantastic evening, dancing all night long, and I wondered, was it just a charmed evening, because it was my birthday, and I WANTED to have fun? Or had the pheromone oil, mixed with the scent of my perfume done the trick?

After all, none of my dancing partners (or potential admirers) ever followed me around the dance floor expressing their “love” for me. That was certainly different and unexpected. I knew I could just think of it as a great birthday, all the planets were aligned, and I had a great time. But, I knew instinctively those few drops of these womens pheromone on my skin had made all the difference.

You know how sometimes you get the feeling that you “just know” something intuitively? Seriously, I’d never had an evening quite like that one. Now, I wear pheromone perfume or oil as often as I can. And yes, it does make me oddly happy and calm…and men DO react to me more often than they did before I started using it. Don’t you “just know” that I don’t go dancing without it!
